Ear Wax Removal
Microsuction is an examination and treatment of the ear using a microscope and camera. We use a miniature vacuum cleaner, which hoovers the ear to extract wax. Microsuction is considered much safer than syringing.

The process is usually over in a few minutes and the majority of people find it easy and comfortable. The process is the safest way to remove ear wax as the professional can see everything they are doing during the removal.
Unlike ear syringing or ear irrigation, where ear wax is flushed out without a view of the ear canal, during microsuction, the ear canal and the ear wax is being directly viewed with the microscope whilst it is being removed. This makes the procedure much quicker, safer and comfortable for the patient.

Children aged 8-15 can also be seen for microsuction. This must be booked in with one of our GPs. The cost is £120 for an appointment which includes microsuction removal if necessary.
